Sims 1: Locked isometric camera (I get it was 2000 but I don't like it) and there was no weekends. I just want to place my TV on a half tile! In build mode I hated the way you needed cheats to place furniture diagonally or off the grid. I thought romance aspiration Sims would be more like a hopeless romantic who wants to find a soulmate, but no, it's about being non-committal and just woohooing with everyone you can and not caring about cheating. I much prefer Sims 3's personality, and would love Sims 4 if the traits were more in-depth and we could pick more of them. Unleash your imagination and create a world of Sims that’s wholly unique. Sims were literally defined by their aspirations. Like I'm a Sagittarius but my Simself's personality in Sims 2 matched with the wrong sign. Sims 2: The personality system from Sims 2 sucked on how it locked certain astrological signs to certain personalities. With generations, imaginary friends were forced on us whenever a child was born which annoyed me to get the 'your doll wants to play!' notifications every day. I wish it didn't do that in every new save. I hate the welcome wagon already, but in Sims 3 you'd have neighbors show up, a time travel portal, University mascot, being informed that my Sims have a smartphone now (university) and the Supernatural totem pole thing. Sims 3: The premade pregnancy clothes and the shit that pops up when you first start a save.
